Thank you. I spent years in the Baja communing with the desert. I sat in an ocotillo forest near an old church - not an abandoned church, merely one of the missions. As I sat there in a truck, I heard the truck singing. It inhaled the desert and the low soft singing was beautiful.

Laying in the desert darkness at night, no light faults the stillness.

Often you are close to the ocean and the scent of desert and ocean blend into a perfume of depth.

I came to the desert after decades in forests of the North - cities of civilization. Each brings a different depth of meaning. Sitting with you near the prickly pear was a journey into another time.

Oh, I love this! The soft singing. No light faulting the stillness. Yes, the different depths and meanings of different places. Thank you so much for sharing.

Dearest Ann, your words and imagery brought me right next to you in your desert wander. I felt the wind and sun, felt your pause and wonder, and felt a peace settle in your understanding of the deep listening we continue to learn. Thank you dear friend. Missing being with you and SHI.... navigating time and desire as spring emerges. I will be in touch. sending love and gratitude for you! xx Kate
